Suppliers, customers and partners came in large numbers to visit our stand, which was shared with our long term partners IBRE and Spencer Moulton, as well as our new co-exhibitors CIM and SEG (Sogema Engineering).
For the first time, we displayed on our stand a breakable drawbar developed to UIC standards for wagon fleets circulating throughout the European corridor.
We were delighted to welcome an increased number of visitors compared to 2012 and all of us at LAF would like to take this opportunity to warmly thank everybody who visited our stand.

LAF has provided couplers for equipping new passengers coaches being manufactured for Tanzania Railways Limited (TRL).
Since the purchase of LLOYD ABC Couplers by LAF, LAF has developed and adapted the technology of the Lloyd MC-DA coupler to meet the new constraints of network operators.

The LAF 1936 semi –permanent drawbar, designed to equip special wagons, has been certified in accordance with UIC 572 by the Notified Body CERTIFER.
Consequently, the LAF 1936 drawbar is now allowed to be installed on any rolling stock in Europe, in accordance with the latest TSI (Technical Specification of Interoperability) in force.
LAF has proven once again, its commitment to continuous development of products for the European rail market, in accordance with the required standards.

Mr. Stéphane Reau has joined the team as Quality Manager.
He will exercise its functions in the 3 divisions of CIM (Projects, equipment and Services ), particularly with LAF and SOGEMA ENGINEERING.
With the aim of always looking for any enhancement, following a request from one of our customers to assist them with a solution for mounting and dismounting a UIC semi-permanent drawbar which could be carried out by a single person on track, LAF designed a solution with a secure collar in accordance with the customer technical specification.
This solution enables the operator to improve both productivity and efficiency.
To further enhance the company’s existing facilities and to meet the constant evolution of its customer requirements in terms of comfort and energy absorption, LAF is committed to the necessary innovation as well as investment in new equipment.
Amongst the many benefits, this new press will enable LAF to pre-assemble high energy capacity draft gear with thermoplastic elements and to carry out compression/traction tests.
